Temple holds food fair to raise fund

KUIL BUDDHA Poh Ka Kuching will be holding a vegetarian food fair tomorrow at their temple at Lorong Upland 7, Jalan Upland, Kuching. Held in conjunction with the consecration of Kwan Yin statue to its shrine at the newly renovated temple, the fair offering a wide variety of vegetarian food and daily goods will start from 8am and end at 2pm. Tickets for the fair are sold out but the public can use cash when they come to the food fair. All proceeds will go to the temple’s daily expenses and as part of the temple’s renovation fund.
The 130-year-old temple is among the oldest temples in Kuching and in Malaysia. The ancient temple, built in 1900, has a portrait of Kwan Yin that resembles the popular depiction of the goddess.
